Celebrate Craft Beer on Colorado Pint Day

Facebook

If you love Colorado craft beer (and, let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), it’s time to show your support and love for this important statewide industry on Colorado Pint Day.

Scheduled for April 12, Colorado Pint Day is the perfect time to head to your favorite local brewery and have a pint or two. Or, better yet, take a road trip to a far-flung brewery you’ve always wanted to visit, as this year’s theme is the Great Colorado Road Trip.

When you visit a participating brewery on April 12, you’ll be able to purchase a limited edition pint glass that’s garnered a bit of a cult-like following over the years.

The pint glass has a different design every year, and this year’s is a riff on the road trip theme. It was created by Anna Long, CEO of Norlo Design and the in-house graphic designer for Copper Kettle Brewing. And, we must say, the design it’s absolutely gorgeous this year, with bright colors and a whimsical depiction of two happy pints of craft beer rolling around in a convertible.

In her artist’s statement, Long wrote that she was inspired by Colorado’s many natural wonders and the lively cities and charming towns nestled between them.

“Whether a life-long Coloradan or a first-time visitor, the Great Colorado Road Trip provides an unforgettable adventure, with views so breathtaking that you can’t help but roll down your car window and soak them in with the fresh mountain air,” she says. “Colorado is a place like nowhere else, where anyone can discover their passions. In sunshine or snowfall, our beautiful four-season state offers something for everyone. Adventure-seekers are never far from a trail, slope, climb or campground, and city-goers have endless cultural, culinary and craft beverage destinations to explore. There are memories waiting to be made on your Great Colorado Road Trip. No matter what path your journey takes, let’s promise to commemorate it with a pint of beer and good company.”

“If you have a favorite local brewery or are looking to try a new brewery out that’s on your radar, Colorado Pint Day is a great way to support independent and local craft beer,” says Shawnee Adelson, the executive director of the Colorado Brewers Guild. “So get out there before glasses run out!”

Even better, $1 of every pint glass sold gets donated to the Colorado Brewers Guild, which helps support independent craft breweries here in the Centennial State.

There are more than 200 breweries participating in Colorado Pint Day this year, which makes it the largest event yet. The event started in 2016 and has been growing in popularity ever since—it’s even inspired other states to create their own pint days, including Idaho and Texas. Colorado, always such a trendsetter.

“When we started this passion project seven years ago, we launched with only thirty or so participating breweries so it’s mind-blowing to see how much it has grown,” says Adelson. “It’s been so rewarding to watch the State of Craft Beer come together to participate and share in the excitement over the years.”

You can check out the full list—and see a map—of all the participating breweries online, but in the meantime, here is a sampling of some of the Boulder County spots to visit on April 12.
