Other Winter Trends for 2025-26

Airbnb is sharing other winter travel trends for the 2025-26 season, too. This winter, Italy is stealing the spotlight. Searches are surging for stays in the Trentino‑South Tyrol, Lombardy and Veneto regions—all future hubs of Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic  making “Old World” winter charm more desirable than ever.

Closer to home, U.S. travelers are turning away from crowded resorts in favor of off‑the‑beaten‑path ski towns and rural escapes. Spots like Brighton, Utah, or McCall, Idaho, are rising in popularity—underscoring a shift toward quieter slopes, manageable crowds and more intimate stays.

Meanwhile, families and multigenerational groups are fueling a boom in longer winter stays, often in roomy homes outside urban centers. Nearly 80 percent of winter getaways in the U.S. are headed to suburban or rural towns, and there’s growing demand for four‑bedroom (or more) homes.
