For years, Platt Park’s Jack’s Modern Steakhouse—known to many locals simply as Jack’s on Pearl—has been a go-to destination for celebratory dinners, spontaneous date nights and those “let’s order coffee and dessert” kind of evenings.
This year, the family-owned Denver favorite headed south, opening a second location in Lone Tree and bringing its signature blend of elevated cuisine and neighborhood warmth to one of the metro area’s most popular suburbs.

Named after founder Steve Lockton’s father, the new outpost takes over the former Mimi’s Café space at 9155 Park Meadows Drive, reimagining the familiar footprint into a refined steakhouse with sweeping views of the Rockies. The move marks a swift and significant expansion for Jack’s, which opened on Pearl Street in 2022, bringing a fresh twist on the modern surf-and-turf concept to South Denver.

The original location features not standard steakhouse fare, but also global offerings including Sicilian arancini, fresh-baked French boule and roasted pineapple red curry chicken. That balance of innovation and familiarity has earned Jack’s a loyal following and a long list of accolades, including Diners’ Choice Awards in 2024 and 2025, multiple People’s Choice Awards at the Denver RARE Competition, and a consistent ranking as one of Yelp’s top steakhouses in Denver.

Notably, the seafood program—which includes specialties such as dry-aged Chilean sea bass and Ora King salmon from New Zealand—makes up close to 40 percent of the menu. Other local favorites include blueberry-mignonette-dressed oysters and pecan shrimp, which is marinated in house chimichurri, cooked on a pecan wood grill, and dressed with agave lime pasilla sauce, tomato compote and dill aioli.

The Lone Tree menu also features exclusive offerings such as bone marrow, a bold “beef and reef” paella, and Iberico pork secreto. But the biggest differentiator is that the entire steak program is built around Wagyu beef, known for its intense marbling that creates a tender, buttery flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Of course, if you like your steak served with a kick, go for Jack’s signature “champion style” preparation, in which your strip, filet or tenderloin comes topped with duck-fat-fried cheesy potato cakes, foie gras butter, and roasted calabrian peppers.

As for the aesthetics, expect subtle nods to the building’s cafe roots blended with Jack’s modern, upscale vibe. The Lone Tree location spans 5,700 square feet across two levels, offering an expanded kitchen, two private dining rooms and a private event space that can host up to 175 guests, as well as the main dining area and a lively bar and lounge.

One of the most striking additions is the 595-square-foot patio, which is directly connected to the bar and serves uninterrupted views of the mountains. The result is a space that feels polished and appropriate for everything from milestone celebrations to casual happy hours.

The expansion also reflects a broader national trend: premium dining concepts are moving beyond urban cores into developed suburban hubs, where diners are looking for sophistication without sacrificing convenience. Lone Tree, with its mix of residential growth, office campuses, and destination shopping, offers a natural next chapter for Jack’s.

For longtime fans and first-time visitors alike, the Lone Tree location delivers elevated food, thoughtful service, and a sense of community that only a neighborhood steakhouse can deliver.
