Arts & Culture

Denver has a thriving arts and culture scene, ranging from symphony orchestra performances to contemporary art exhibits and everything in between.

Start your journey at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, which hosts a full schedule of concerts, plays, musicals, film screenings and other events.

If you love music, check out the online calendars of the Mile High City’s concert venues. Outdoor venues like Fiddler’s Green and Red Rocks Amphitheatre are ideal for taking in some live music during the warm summer months. In the winter, stay cozy inside during shows at Mission Ballroom, Ogden Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Fillmore Auditorium and Ball Arena.

Denver also has numerous world-class museums. A few of the biggest include History Colorado, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Art Museum and Meow Wolf. Once you’ve explored those large venues, set your sights on Denver’s smaller, niche facilities, like the Clyfford Still Museum or the Forney Museum of Transportation, for example.

The Mile High City also has numerous art galleries, such as Gallery 1261 and Walker Fine Art. And as you’re walking around, try to keep your eyes peeled for murals and street art, which can be found all over town. Some of the best are in the River North Arts District, or RiNo for short, as well as the Art District on Santa Fe.

As you start planning your visit, be sure to consider attending one of Denver’s many art festivals, which typically take place during the warm summer months. A few local favorites include the Chalk Art Festival and the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
